Making a Frame Stool from Ash and Kamba
The video shows a pole lathe being used to cut the bars to size, the drilling process using a bit brace, the fitting process, and lastly cordage is woven to make the seat top.
Great video….lots of hands on craftsman/womanship here…love it.

A old farmer grew this wood in a heart shape after his wife died, so she could see from heaven he still loves her, there’s a note on one of the trees from him saying ‘I’ll be there soon’.
Just proves love does go on forever,

Wairere Falls
Nach einer Woche Work for Accommodation in Rotorua, wurde es Zeit, die Stadt gen Norden zu verlassen. Weihnachten wollte ich auf der Coromandel Halbinsel verbringen.
Unterwegs in Richtung Coromandel übernachtete ich in den Kleinstädten Matamata, welche bekannt ist für das einzig erhalten gebliebene Filmset der Herr-Der-Ringe-Trilogie (Hobbiton), sowie in der Kleinstadt Te Aroha. Auf der Strecke von Matamata nach Te Aroha ragt auf der östlichen Seite der Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park empor. Die kleine Bergkette ist nicht nur beliebt für ihre Wanderstrecken sondern auch für die beeindruckenden Wairere Falls. Aus einer Höhe von über 120 Metern fliesst ein Gebirgsfluss ins Tal.
Auf dem Foto stehe ich am Rand des Wasserfalls. Hier stürzt der Fluss in die Tiefe.
(When I was about 13 yrs old, we got lost up in these mountains with 6 others late on a Saturday. From the bush, we jumped into a small stream and walked down it through the night untill we came to the main river, we floated down the river which we knew would lead to the waterfalls. Close by, was a track which took us down to the farm where we had our cars parked……Thank you for the reminder….lovely photo. Brian)
